The motion sensor light has two available modes. There is a switch near the motion sensor that allows you to turn the photocell sensor on or off. When the photocell sensor is on, the light will remain off during the day and only turn on when it detects movement in dark environments up to 6m away. When the photocell sensor is off, the light can be activated at any time, regardless of the ambient lighting conditions.

This battery-powered night light is equipped with a built-in PIR infrared motion detector. The light will instantly turn on when it senses movement up to 18ft away in dark environments, and it will automatically turn off after 20 seconds if no further motion is detected, conserving the battery life.

If the battery is installed in the ceiling light but the light still cannot be activated, please check the following: 1. Ensure the D-cell batteries are new. 2. Confirm the battery installation polarity is correct. 3. Verify that the lighting mode is set to the sensing mode (the light can only be activated in dark environments in this mode).
